3. Smart Communication & Interface Ports
The BMS shown includes multiple labelled communication and expansion ports:
- CAN/485
- UART-1
- UART-2
- NTC-A
- NTC-B
- KEY
- DIO
DALY smart BMS products support communication with compatible monitoring equipment and battery-management systems through interfaces such as CAN, RS485 and UART.
Compatibility of individual ports, protocols and accessories should be confirmed for the intended application before installation.
4. Temperature Monitoring
The unit has ports labelled:
- NTC-A
- NTC-B
These are intended for compatible temperature-sensing arrangements.
Temperature monitoring helps the BMS manage the battery pack according to configured protection parameters when used with the correct DALY sensors and setup.
5. Battery Protection
DALY smart BMS systems are designed to manage important battery operating conditions such as:
- Overcharge protection
- Over-discharge protection
- Over-current protection
- Temperature protection
- Cell voltage monitoring
- Battery pack management
Exact thresholds depend on the BMS configuration and programmed settings.
6. External KEY Switch
The product shown includes an external wired rocker switch connected for the KEY function.
This provides a convenient physical ON/OFF control for compatible BMS operation.
Included: 1 × wired rocker switch as shown in the product image.
7. Suitable Applications
Suitable for compatible 13S 48V Li-ion battery packs used in:
- Electric scooters
- Electric bicycles
- EV battery packs
- Electric three-wheelers
- Portable power systems
- DIY lithium battery packs
- Robotics and mobile equipment
- Other 48V Li-ion applications
8. Compatibility Note
Before ordering, confirm all of the following:
- Battery chemistry must be Li-ion / ternary lithium
- Battery configuration must be 13S
- Battery voltage class must be approximately 48V
- Required continuous current must be within the 60A BMS rating
- Charger must be suitable for the exact 13S Li-ion battery pack
- Communication protocol must match the equipment if CAN/RS485/UART communication is required
DALY specifically states that Li-ion, LiFePOâ‚„ and LTO BMS models are not interchangeable.
9. Installation Note
Correct BMS wiring is critical.
- Connect B- to battery negative
- Connect P- according to the BMS wiring diagram
- Connect the balance/sense harness in the correct cell sequence
- Never reverse B- and P-
- Never connect the balance wires in the wrong order
- Use a charger designed for the corresponding lithium battery chemistry and series count
Professional installation is recommended for EV and high-current battery packs.
10. Safety Note
Do not use the BMS:
- With a different battery chemistry
- With a different number of series cells
- Above its specified current rating
- With damaged or incorrectly connected sense wires
- With reversed battery polarity
Always verify the complete battery configuration before powering the BMS.
