1. Product Overview
The DALY 8S 24V 100A BMS is a high-current battery protection system designed for eight LiFePO4 cells or parallel cell groups connected in series.
An 8S LiFePO4 battery pack has a nominal voltage of approximately 25.6V and reaches 29.2V when fully charged. Such batteries are commonly marketed as 24V LiFePO4 packs.
This BMS monitors the voltage of each series group and disconnects the battery when unsafe charging, discharging or current conditions are detected. Its advertised 100A discharge-current rating makes it suitable for compatible medium- and high-current battery applications, provided the battery cells, cables, connectors and load are also correctly rated.

3. Typical Connection Points
| Connection | Typical function |
|---|---|
| B− | Battery-pack negative terminal |
| B1–B7 | Intermediate cell-group voltage connections |
| B+ | Battery-pack positive terminal |
| P− | External negative connection for the load and, on common-port models, the charger |
| P+ | External positive connection, normally connected directly to battery positive |
| NTC | Temperature-sensor connection, when supplied |
| Balance connector | Connects the individual cell-group sensing wires to the BMS |
The exact port arrangement must be confirmed from the markings and wiring diagram supplied with the BMS. Do not identify terminals only by wire colour or physical position.
4. Protection Functions
The DALY 8S BMS is intended to provide essential protection for compatible LiFePO₄ battery packs, including:
- Individual cell-group voltage monitoring
- Overcharge protection
- Over-discharge protection
- Discharge-overcurrent protection
- Short-circuit protection
- Charge and discharge switching through internal MOSFETs
- Temperature protection when the required sensor is installed
- Cell balancing when supported by the exact model
- Recovery after supported protection events
A BMS helps protect a correctly designed battery pack, but it cannot repair damaged, mismatched or deeply discharged cells.
5. Suitable Applications
This BMS may be suitable for compatible 8S LiFePO₄ battery packs used in:
- Solar-energy storage systems
- Inverter and UPS batteries
- Electric scooters
- E-rickshaws and mobility equipment
- Marine and recreational battery systems
- Robotics and automated equipment
- Portable power systems
- Backup-power installations
- DIY 24V LiFePO₄ battery packs
- Battery repair and replacement projects
The continuous operating current and startup current of the connected equipment must remain within the verified limits of the BMS and battery pack.
6. Battery and Charger Compatibility
Use this BMS only when:
- The battery contains exactly eight series-connected LiFePO₄ cell groups.
- Each cell group has a nominal voltage of approximately 3.2V.
- The pack has a nominal voltage of approximately 25.6V.
- The charger is designed specifically for an 8S LiFePO₄ battery.
- The charger’s maximum output voltage does not exceed 29.2V.
- All eight cell groups are at closely matched voltages before installation.
- The battery cells can safely supply the required current.
- The load’s continuous and peak current remain within verified system limits.
Do not use this BMS with 8S lithium-ion or lithium-polymer cells rated at 3.6V or 3.7V nominal. Those chemistries require different charging and protection voltages.
7. Installation Guidance
- Measure all eight cell-group voltages before connecting the BMS.
- Confirm the sensing-wire order using the supplied wiring diagram.
- Connect B− to the battery-pack negative terminal.
- Connect each balance wire sequentially to the correct cell-group junction.
- Connect B+ or the final sensing wire to battery-pack positive as specified.
- Connect the load and charger through the correct external terminals.
- Verify the voltage between every consecutive balance wire before plugging in the connector.
- Use properly sized cables, terminals and connectors for the required current.
- Install an appropriately rated fuse close to the battery’s positive terminal.
- Keep soldering or terminal-heating time as short as possible.
- Secure and insulate all exposed electrical connections.
- Mount the BMS where it has adequate ventilation and cannot contact conductive parts.
Incorrect connection of even one sensing wire can permanently damage the BMS.
8. Important Current-Rating Note
The 100A BMS rating does not increase the current capability of the battery cells.
The safe current of the complete battery system is determined by the lowest-rated component, including:
- Battery cells
- BMS
- Busbars or nickel strips
- Power cables
- Connectors
- Fuse
- Charger
- Connected load
Loads such as motors and inverters may draw a starting or surge current substantially higher than their normal operating current. Confirm both continuous and peak current requirements before selecting this BMS.
Adequate heat dissipation is also necessary when operating near the BMS current limit.
9. Safety Information
- Use only with an 8S LiFePO₄ battery pack.
- Do not use a charger intended for lithium-ion or lead-acid batteries unless it has a verified 8S LiFePO₄ charging profile.
- Never reverse the battery polarity.
- Never short the battery or BMS terminals.
- Do not connect balance wires in the wrong order.
- Do not plug in the balance connector until every sensing voltage has been verified.
- Do not exceed the verified charge or discharge-current rating.
- Use a suitable fuse and correctly rated cables.
- Keep the BMS away from water, conductive dust and loose metal objects.
- Do not use damaged, burnt, corroded or unusually hot components.
- Stop using the battery if any cell group becomes swollen, overheated or abnormally unbalanced.
- Installation should be performed by someone familiar with high-current LiFePO₄ battery systems.
