1. Product Overview

The JIABAIDA DB24SA09-K V1.2 is a high-current battery-management system designed for 24 LiFePO₄ cells or parallel cell groups connected in series.

A 24S LiFePO₄ battery has a nominal voltage of approximately 76.8V and reaches 87.6V when fully charged. Such battery packs are commonly marketed in the 72V or 76.8V class.

The product label identifies this model as a 24S 100A same-port BMS with cell balancing and UART communication. It is designed to monitor individual series groups and protect a correctly assembled battery pack against unsafe charging, excessive discharge, overcurrent and short-circuit conditions.

Its same-port design normally allows the charger and load to use a common controlled negative connection. The exact terminal arrangement must be confirmed using the wiring diagram supplied for this model.

The precise connection sequence must be verified from the DB24SA09-K wiring diagram. Do not identify terminals only by connector position, wire colour or appearance.

4. Protection Functions

The JIABAIDA 24S BMS is intended to provide essential protection for a compatible LiFePO₄ battery pack, including:

  • Monitoring of 24 series-connected cell groups
  • Individual cell overcharge protection
  • Individual cell over-discharge protection
  • Discharge-overcurrent protection
  • Short-circuit protection
  • Charge and discharge control
  • Temperature monitoring when the required sensors are connected
  • Cell-voltage balancing
  • Protection-event recovery according to the configured firmware
  • UART-based monitoring or configuration when used with compatible hardware

A BMS cannot repair damaged, mismatched or deeply discharged cells. Every cell group should be tested and voltage-matched before installation.

5. Same-Port Configuration

The label identifies this model as a same-port BMS.

In a same-port system:

  • Charging and discharging normally share a common controlled negative terminal.
  • The charger and load are connected through the same BMS-controlled path.
  • Separate charge and discharge negative terminals may not be provided.
  • Wiring must follow the exact manufacturer diagram.

Do not assume the connection arrangement from another JBD or JIABAIDA model, because terminal layouts can differ.

6. Suitable Applications

This BMS may be suitable for compatible 24S LiFePO₄ battery packs used in:

  • Electric scooters
  • Electric motorcycles
  • E-rickshaws and electric three-wheelers
  • Solar-energy storage systems
  • High-voltage inverter batteries
  • UPS and backup-power systems
  • Robotics and automated equipment
  • Portable industrial power systems
  • Custom 72V or 76.8V LiFePO₄ battery packs
  • Battery manufacturing, repair and replacement projects

The BMS must be selected according to both the continuous operating current and the peak or startup current of the equipment.

7. Battery and Charger Compatibility

Use this BMS only when:

  • The battery contains exactly 24 series-connected LiFePO₄ groups.
  • Each cell group has a nominal voltage of approximately 3.2V.
  • The completed pack has a nominal voltage of approximately 76.8V.
  • The charger is designed specifically for a 24S LiFePO₄ battery.
  • The charger’s maximum output voltage does not exceed 87.6V.
  • All 24 cell groups have closely matched voltages before connection.
  • The battery cells can safely deliver the required current.
  • The cables, busbars, terminals, connectors and fuse are correctly rated.
  • The load’s continuous and peak current remain within verified system limits.

Do not use this BMS with 24S NMC, lithium-ion or lithium-polymer cells rated at 3.6V or 3.7V nominal. Those chemistries require different charging and protection thresholds.

8. Installation Guidance

  • Measure and record the voltage of all 24 cell groups.
  • Confirm the complete balance-wire sequence before connecting it to the BMS.
  • Connect the main battery-negative terminal according to the manufacturer’s sequence.
  • Connect each sensing wire sequentially to its corresponding cell-group junction.
  • Verify the voltage between every pair of consecutive sensing wires.
  • Confirm the total pack voltage before plugging in the balance connector.
  • Connect the charger and load through the correct same-port terminal.
  • Connect the temperature sensor where it can accurately monitor battery temperature.
  • Use properly sized cables, busbars, terminals and connectors for the expected current.
  • Install an appropriately rated fuse close to the battery-positive terminal.
  • Secure and insulate all exposed conductive parts.
  • Mount the BMS where it receives adequate ventilation.
  • Keep the board away from moisture, conductive dust and loose metal components.

Incorrect connection of one balance wire can damage the BMS and create a serious battery-safety risk.

9. Important Current-Rating Note

The advertised 100A BMS rating does not increase the current capability of the battery cells.

The safe current of the complete battery system is determined by its lowest-rated component, including:

  • Battery cells
  • BMS
  • Busbars or nickel strips
  • Main power cables
  • Connectors
  • Fuse
  • Charger
  • Connected load

Motors and inverters can draw a startup or surge current considerably higher than their normal operating current. Verify the continuous current, peak current, peak duration and thermal conditions before using the BMS near its advertised limit.

10. Safety Information

  • Use only with a correctly configured 24S LiFePO₄ battery.
  • Never reverse battery polarity.
  • Never short the main battery or BMS terminals.
  • Do not connect the balance wires in the wrong order.
  • Do not plug in the balance connector before checking every sensing voltage.
  • Use only a compatible 87.6V 24S LiFePO₄ charger.
  • Do not exceed the verified charge or discharge-current rating.
  • Use appropriately rated cables, connectors and a protective fuse.
  • Do not allow the board to contact the battery enclosure or other conductive parts.
  • Keep the BMS away from water, condensation and conductive debris.
  • Stop using the battery if a cell becomes swollen, overheated or abnormally unbalanced.
  • Installation should be performed by a technician experienced with high-voltage LiFePO₄ battery systems.
